EU antitrust regulators have been following very closely recent management changes at ChatGPT maker OpenAI as well as Microsoft's (MSFT.O) role, they said on Friday.
"While this transaction has not been formally notified, the (European) Commission has been following very closely the situation of control over OpenAI already before the recent events involving its management, including Microsoft's role on the OpenAI board and the investment agreements between Microsoft and OpenAI," the EU competition enforcer said in an email.
The UK competition agency earlier on Friday said it will review whether to launch a merger probe.
