Andres Chaparro had three hits including a three-run homer, Cade Cavalli fanned 11 in six innings and the Washington Nationals snapped a four-game losing streak with a 6-0 win over the Texas Rangers on Wednesday in Arlington, Texas.
Jose Tena homered and singled for Washington, which had lost six of seven. Keibert Ruiz had two hits and an RBI, and Chaparro scored three runs.
Cavalli (11-5) gave up just three hits and one walk while throwing 84 pitches.
The right-hander carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning while pitching eight scoreless innings in his previous start, against the Chicago Cubs on Aug. 13. He extended his scoreless streak to 17 innings.
Over his past 10 starts, Cavalli is 7-1 with a 2.12 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 59 1/3 innings.
Washington relievers Will Dion, Max Kranick and Jake Bird tossed one scoreless frame apiece to complete the four-hit shutout.
Corey Seager had his third consecutive two-hit game for the Rangers, who won the opener of the three-game series 5-0 on Tuesday. Texas has lost six of its past eight games.
Texas starter Kumar Rocker (4-10) went five innings and allowed two runs on six hits. He struck out three and walked one.
The Rangers put runners on first and second with one out in the second, but Cavalli struck out Elias Diaz and Nicky Lopez.
Tena homered with two outs in the Washington third to make it 1-0. He sent an 0-1 sinker 415 feet to center field for his seventh long ball of the year.
In the fourth, Chaparro hit a leadoff double and scored when Ruiz grounded a single to right.
Chaparro and Ruiz singled to open the sixth inning. Jacob Young bunted the runners over, and Chaparro scored when Jorbit Vivas was retired on a slow roller to pitcher Cole Winn.
Abimelec Ortiz and Tena walked with one out in the seventh. Daylen Lile grounded out before Chaparro hit his eighth homer of the season, a high fly down the left field line.
