India's Apollo Tyres posts quarterly profit rise on price hikes, firm demand in key markets

India's Apollo Tyres (APLO.NS) reported on Thursday a nearly 9% increase in first-quarter profit before ​tax and exceptional items, helped by strong ‌demand in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa markets and higher prices.

Profit after tax, however, jumped more ​than 26-fold from a year, when earnings ​were hit by restructuring-related costs.
