Global commodity trading house Gunvor's office in Geneva was searched by Swiss prosecutors in May in as part of a criminal investigation into bribery of foreign officials by persons unknown, the office of the attorney general of Switzerland said in a statement on Tuesday.
In its own statement, Gunvor said it is not the target of the investigation and that it had reported issues to the authorities a year ago, pertaining to a $2 million fraud scheme by a maritime service provider it had taken to the UAE courts and fired a former employee over.
