After missing the last four games, Colorado Rockies catcher Hunter Goodman was placed on the 10-day injured list by the club on Tuesday with a left shoulder strain.
The move is retroactive to August 15. Goodman did not play in the three-game weekend series at San Francisco and was scratched from the lineup against the Dodgers on Monday.
"I thought I had a chance to just get some work done and get back out there, but just didn't feel 100% comfortable with it," said Goodman.
The Rockies recalled catcher Braxton Fulford from Triple-A Albuquerque.
In his second full season in the majors, Goodman, 26, has already surpassed his career high with 34 home runs in 111 games. He was also sporting a .541 slugging percentage and both of those gaudy offensive numbers rank fifth in the majors beginning play on Tuesday.
Goodman, who was the subject of trade rumors up to the deadline, earned his second consecutive trip to the All-Star game last month. He won the Silver Slugger Award in 2025, slashing .278/.323/.520 and producing 31 home runs and 91 RBI's.
In 348 career games, Goodman has 79 home runs and 213 RBI's.
He only played in 93 games from 2023-24.
Fulford has seen action in both 2025 and 2026 for the Rockies. This season, he is hitting .177 with one home run and seven driven in, while playing in 40 games.
Fulford is starting behind the plate Tuesday night and batting eighth.
