Bezeq Israel Telecom (BEZQ.TA), Israel's largest telecoms group, said on Wednesday it had named Yohai Benita as its chief financial officer, starting from April 10.

Benita, 44, will succeed Tobi Fischbein, who earlier this month said he intended to step down in the second quarter after four years in the job.

For the past three years, Benita has served as CFO of Pelephone and Yes - Bezeq's mobile phone and TV units - and helped improve their operational efficiency, Bezeq noted.

He previously had been deputy chief executive and CFO at Israel's TV Channel 13, CFO at Alon Blue Square, and has held senior management positions in Zim Integrated Shipping Services.

Benita "has an important role in maintaining the group’s financial stability in general, and in Bezeq Fixed-Line in particular, in this volatile period in the telecommunications and tech market," said Bezeq Chairman Tomer Raved.

"After three years in his current position in Pelephone and Yes, Yohai is deeply familiar with the group and will be able to reinforce our excellent relationship with the capital markets in Israel and abroad."
